# Claude for Law Firms

- **Confidentiality first.** Use a Team or Enterprise plan whose terms say your data isn't used to train models, and set firm rules for what client information may be used.
- **Verify every citation.** Claude can be wrong about law and cases. A lawyer checks every authority and conclusion before it's relied on.
- **Follow your bar's guidance.** Bar guidance, such as ABA Formal Opinion 512 (2024), expects lawyers to understand the tools, protect client confidences and supervise the output.
